George Dunne

Magnetic North Consulting was started by George Dunne in June 2000.  In addition to his foray into professional baseball and collegiate-level coaching, George has recorded numerous achievements in consulting, sales and training roles.  Before founding Magnetic North Consulting, he was the Chief Learning Officer at Starwood Hotels
and at Unisys; and a Training Director at Arthur Andersen/ Accenture where he was an expatriate in the Netherlands (1992-1993). 

George received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Illinois, and a master’s degree (M.A.) in Educational Psychology, from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois.  He is a Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) and a Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence CMQ/OE) through the American Society for Quality; a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) through the Institute of Management Accountants, and a Registered Organization Development Consultant (RODC) through the Organization Development Institute.  He is a past member of the Executive Education Advisory Board for the Wharton School.  He has completed his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification,  ITILv3 Foundations Certification,  Scrum Master (Agile Development Framework) certification, Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE), Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSB), and recently passed the SPHR (Senior HR Professional) certification exam.

Whether consulting with organizations to improve upon their operational effectiveness, challenging individual growth, or facilitating leadership programs, George demonstrates his belief that people instinctively want to perform well and that any problem or issue they confront, is an opportunity for individual, organizational and team growth and success.
